I don't think I've tried this before, ever. I've thought about trying it, but always chickened out, or didn't think there was a point to it. I am going to give up drinking pop. At least for 40 days.
Normally, I don't really participate in the practice of giving something up for Lent, but this year I will give it a try. Our Sunday School class was talking about different types of fasting possibilities, one of which was a seasonal fast. Since it was good timing for Lent, we decided we would each give up something. We joked about it for a while, talking about giving up paying bills, or exercising, and drinking water. :) I stayed away from the idea of giving up pop, until I realized it's the one that kept coming into my head.
I think the hardest part will be breaking the habit. Every time I go to get something to drink, it's a pop. Just about every meal and every snack, I have a pop along with it, and one in between. After about a week of getting into the routine, I think I will be fine. I'm not really worried about headaches, because I am still drinking caffeine.
We'll see how it goes after Lent. Who knows, maybe I will decide to give it up all together.

Good job! That's so impressive. I've never given up anything for 40 days. I should probably try it sometime.
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks, but I was not successful. I broke down and had a pop when I went to a hockey game. I was sad I couldn't make it. I am off it again, it was just a one time thing. But I still felt bad about it.
